The movie tells the story of a faded movie star (played by Michael Keaton) who was famous for his role in a series to superhero movies 20 years previously and tries to reclaim his artistic integrity by directing and starring in a Broadway play.
“The experience plunges him into a personal crisis as both the production and his own family are beset by a series of disasters,” reads the TV listings.The movie has an all-star cast alongside star Michael Keaton including Edward Norton, Emma Stone and Naomi Watts. The movie earned huge praise for the way it was shot; in a single shot except for one brief scene. The film walked away with four Oscar awards at the 87th Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Cinematography. Birdman is on RTÉ2 at 9pm tonight.
