People are sharing why they wouldn’t go on Love Island, and their reasons are gas

Listen, I am absolutely glued to this year's Love Island, and that's probably never going to change. However, I know deep down in my heart that I would never be able to go on that show myself, and I'm not alone. Over the past few days, people across social media have been sharing the reasons why they'd never be able to go on the show, and I feel seen. British TikTok user Bella Hill shared her objections to appearing on the show, and her video resonated with her viewers. Firstly, Bella took issue with the show's penchant for weird food challenges. "I don't like gravy anyway, let alone from someone's saliva-y mouth," she said. Another challenge that would be problematic for Bella is the sexy lap-dancing challenges: "I couldn't give my boyfriend a lap dance, let alone 20 people sat on that fire-pit. I would have to say I'm ill."

Bella also said she'd feel uncomfortable with the rigorous beauty standards of the show, and added that she experiences razor rash. "I'm smooth on the first day and then I go stubbly." Same, girl. Another common barrier for many is the issue of being on camera first thing in the morning. "Waking up in the morning and looking like Hagrid mixed with a swollen fish," Bella says. In another video, Charlie Dunne echoes this sentiment: "I look like Gollum in the mornings."

The intimacy of being on camera generally is a whole issue in itself. Bella said she'd be mortified if the microphone picked up an embarrassing moment. "I fart so loud," she says. "I would wake up the whole of Spain with my farts." Irish TikToker Miriam Mullins said she'd never on the show, because she "couldn't cope" with her family watching the whole thing. Us too Miriam, us too.
