Piers Morgan targets Ellen DeGeneres with his latest Twitter gripe

The TV host is again taking aim on Twitter.

Piers Morgan is known for starting Twitter spats with just about anyone who will listen to him and today is no different. The Good Morning Britain host is calling out Ellen DeGeneres for one of her social media posts where she marked Katy Perry’s birthday. Ellen shared a picture of her with her wife, Portia De Rossi, and Katy with the caption:

“Happy birthday, Katy Perry! It’s time to bring out the big balloons!”

Piers has since retweeted the post to his over six million followers, saying:

“If a man made this joke, Ellen would lead the cries of ‘SEXIST PIG!’”

The post naturally received a huge response from followers, many of whom supported the presenter.

“If some man in his 50s who was showbiz friends with Katy Perry did the same thing he’s be lambasted all over Twitter.”

However, there were obviously also those who fell on the other side, supporting the US TV host.

“Context is important,” said one follower. “I assume they are close friends.”

Ellen has not responded to Piers’ tweets as of yet.
