The actor featured in the third instalment of the series as Luke Sawyer, a member of Christian Grey's personal security team.
Sawyer ends up being assigned to watch over Ana, Christian's now-wife, after her vengeful former boss begins to stalk her.
And Daugherty seems to be pretty stoked to find his character popping up in the series.
In an interview with E!, he spoke about walking around Christian Grey's apartment for the first time.
He said:
"It's really mind-blowing to me, all of the time. You're so aware of what it is, and to come in at the tale end of the third movie... I remember walking around the set for Christian's apartment the first time, thinking 'this set costs more than my house!'"It's a bit of a different turn on the way the character was portrayed in the book. Sawyer actually ended up making his first appearance in Fifty Shades Darker, the second book in the series, rather than the final instalment. He was tasked to keep an eye on Ana in the novel after one of Christian's ex submissive began to stalk her, and continuously watched over her in the following book.
