This Riverdale actress says she’s getting death threats over her role

Riverdale season two is getting steadily closer.

Fans have been grasping at every little seemingly innocent plot and casting detail ahead of Riverdale’s highly anticipated second season. But one character in particular has caught the attention of viewers ahead of the show’s October debut: Toni Topaz. Toni will reportedly get close to Jughead while he’s at Southside High - which ends up causing a rift between him and Betty Cooper. https://www.instagram.com/p/BA5yytPFlIe/?taken-by=vanessamorgan Vanessa Morgan, who will be playing Toni, hasn’t even made her on-screen debut - but is already feeling the backlash from Bughead fans. And it’s gone so far that Vanessa says she has received death threats over the part. She explained to Glamour:

“[Toni] is a Southside Serpent, a gang member, and Jughead's first friend. "So I might stir up the pot a bit with the Bughead relationship. There might be a little love triangle. "I’ve already had some death threats. "But the thing is, it's half death threats because they don't want that [actually] happening, and there's half that's just all love. “Who knows if [my character coming between Bughead] is even going to happen. People are just jumping to conclusions."

https://www.instagram.com/p/BT0D03mAz_Z/?taken-by=vanessamorgan But it doesn’t look like the drama has affected her relationships with her fellow Riverdale cast mates. Vanessa also opened up about working with rumoured real life couple  Lili Reinhart (Betty) and Cole Sprouse (Jughead). She added:

"Lili and Cole are awesome, and they have been nothing but welcoming to me. “It’s great doing scenes with them. I feel lucky that everyone has been so nice. “And Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom) is my best friend in real life!"
