Riverdale fans are seriously freaking out after the latest Jughead twist.

After months and months of teases (seriously, they go as far back as the season three finale), it looks like Riverdale fans may have gotten answers about Jughead's fate. And, well, it doesn't look like it's good news. Warning: Spoilers for Riverdale's latest episode are just below this photo.  It may only be the fourth episode of this season, but there have already been a number of flash-forwards that have hinted something really wrong and terrible has happened to Jug. The latest episode, Halloween, only added more fuel to the fire with Jughead's difficulties at Stonewall Prep (being locked in a coffin isn't exactly the warmest of introductions). After finding out about the Stonewall Four, four students from the school who have gone missing without a trace, Jug's new pals drugged him and locked him in a coffin for the evening in a 'hazing' ritual. Towards the end of the episode, he calls Betty and the two of them talk about their really, really awful Hallowe'ens - him with the coffin, her with a faux Black Hood terrorising her. And Jughead told his girlfriend that the thought of her was what helped him while he was stuck in the coffin. "Thinking about you was the only thing that kept me from losing hope, and my sanity," he said. I think deep down, I know that if I ever really went missing that you would be the one to find me." "I would, Jug," Betty replied. "I promise." The scene then cut to the Riverdale Coroner's Office, with no exact date specified, as Betty and FP watched as a sheet was lifted off of a body to show Jughead's face. And fans weren't too happy with the reveal.
