Serena Williams’ daughter Alexis just made her first public appearance

She was cheering her mum on earlier in the week.

Since welcoming her daughter in September of last year, Serena Williams has kept out of the spotlight as much as possible. Taking to social media to share some updates with fans, the only insight we’ve been given into her family life is that which she chooses to share online. However, this week, her daughter Alexis Olympia was the centre of attention as her mum took to the court for the Fed Cup in North Carolina. Yes, the five-month-old firmly took the spotlight from her mum as she sat on the lap of her dad, Alexis Ohanian, courtside. Serena was busy playing doubles with her sister Venus against the Dutch team, however, that didn’t stop her from taking a few minutes when she had the chance to sit with her family and play with her little girl. This is baby Alexis’ first public appearance since her birth back in September and judging by her adorable outfit, she’ll be stealing the limelight from her mum for a long time yet.

Serena has also been using her huge following on social media to get advice on certain topics and recently turned to the many mums who follow her to ask their advice on social media. “Fellow moms: How long did you breastfeed?" she asked. "Is it weird that I get emotional when I even just think about when it’s time to stop?”

And her followers were quick to respond with words of encouragement for the new mum, with many reminding her that it is completely her choice.
