When asked if she would ever go on a LGBT+ edition of the show, Sharon said that she would have her reservations.
She said: "I think putting myself through something like that again is quite intense, but I’m always open to seeing what opportunities happen."
Earlier this year, there were rumours that the show would be open to gay men and women, however this didn't come to fruition. While several bisexual islanders have participated on the show, they were limited in who they could select as partners due to the show's structure.
In June, ITV commissioner Amanda Stavri said that having LGBT+ islanders would pose a "logistical difficulty".
She told Radio Times: "There’s a sort of logistical difficulty, because although Islanders don’t have to be 100 per cent straight, the format must sort of give [the] Islanders an equal choice when coupling up."
