Hollyoaks has confirmed that Jennifer Metcalfe is returning to the show as a regular cast member. The actress, who plays Mercedes McQueen, came back at the end of last night’s E4 episode despite the fact that it had been reported that she was leaving permanently. Her character was believed to be dead after being stabbed back in November. She then disappeared and Grace Black (Tamara Wall) was revealed as the culprit. Mercedes has returned to Hollyoaks. But now it seems that that’s not how things went down. In fact Mercedes has been lying low in a villa in France since leaving the village. The coming episodes will fill in the blanks for viewers who will discover the true story behind her disappearance. According to Digital Spy, it was announced that Jennifer was leaving for good in order to protect the storyline. Her exit was only ever supposed to be temporary.
