The news of Pearson's cancellation comes a few months after Suits came to an end, as well.
The legal drama bowed out after nine seasons earlier this year, with a number of familiar faces returning for the final few episodes. And while fans were delighted to see them return, they were also hoping that Meghan Markle would reprise her role as Rachel Zane.
Before she was the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan starred on the legal drama for seven years. She exited at the end of season seven alongside Patrick J. Adams, who played her on-screen husband Mike Ross.
And with Suits' final season coming to an end, there had been a lot of rumours as to whether or not the 38-year-old would be reprising the role - especially after Adams' return was confirmed.
The series' creator Aaron Korsh has now weighed in on the rumours, as he was asked if there was "any possibility" of Meghan being asked to return for "even a small cameo."
He told Deadline that while he had thought about asking Meghan to reprise the role, there was one thing in particular that had held him back.
He said:
"Now that we already did it, I will tell you. "I thought about asking, and I thought about even using audio footage - that we have to come up with something - and in the end I didn't ask, and I just thought, 'I'm going to respect her new life and not put her in the position of having to ask'. "We decided not to put her in that position so I never asked."
