Susan Sarandon has slammed Woody Allen at Cannes

Woody Allen is a divisive figure in Hollywood.

Allen's daughter, Dylan Farrow wrote an open letter in the New York Times two years ago alleging he abused her for many years:

"As long as I could remember, my father had been doing things to me that I didn’t like. I didn’t like how often he would take me away from my mom, siblings and friends to be alone with him".

Despite this and numerous other allegations against Allen, stars and the media are still clamouring to work with the director. Most in the public eye have kept quiet about their opinion of Allen, but actress Susan Sarandon did not hold back during a talk at the Cannes Film Festival, the Guardian reports. She was attending the talk with Thelma and Louise co-star Geena Davis to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary, and when asked about Woody Allen's comments at the opening gala (he made a quip about a lot of his films involving older men and younger women), she was blunt in her reply. “I have nothing good to say about Woody Allen, so I don’t think we should go there.” She was then pressed to speak more on the issue so she added: “I think he sexually assaulted a child and I don’t think that’s right … It’s gotten very quiet in here, but that’s true.” She didn't mince her words, that's for sure.
