Hosted by Eoghan Doherty, the show will take viewers on a culinary journey across Cork and Dublin where genuine conversation, heartfelt moments, and authentic food unfolds at each dinner table, to remind us that the best experiences happen when friends and family gather around a shared meal.
'The Shared Table' join forces with Birra Moretti for the two-part TV series with tonight's opening episode featuring our beloved and hilarious 'Derry Girls', Siobhán McSweeney and Kathy Kiera Clark, otherwise known as Sister Michael and Aunt Sarah.
The hilarious duo breaks bread in Dublin's 'Boeuf and Coq' in tonight's episode with, Siobhán, a BAFTA-winning Irish actress and presenter, saying 'The Shared Table' is a show that 'radiates warmth'.
"Filming brought an eclectic group of people together over good food and great beer…. And I can’t wait to hear what viewers think when our episode airs.
"Partnering with Birra Moretti, a brand I’ve loved for some time, and getting to share the table with my 'Derry Girls' co-star and friend Kathy Kiera was the icing on the cake!”
Next Monday (December 4th), the second and final episode will see TV Chef, Matt Tebbutt, joined by writer and podcaster, Anna Richardson, to have a sit-down Italian meal in Cork and pay homage to the Italian ritual of dining together.
Chef Matt, who is best known for his role on BBC’s 'Saturday Kitchen', explains why he couldn't resist the chance to participate.
"I have a longstanding love for Italy and that goes hand-in-hand with my profound respect for Italian food, so when Birra Moretti approached me to participate in the ‘The Shared Table’ it was an instant yes from me.
"Getting to share the screen with Anna made filming all the more memorable. It really is more than another TV show, it gives guests the space to eat, drink and be merry. We are excited to hear what audiences think.”
Forming connections over food is at the heart of 'The Shared Table', and viewers are promised freely-shared stories, genuine friendships - old and new - as well as great food and drink.
The heartwarming two-part TV series promises to go beyond your typical chat show, creating space for not just the guests, but viewers at home to join in.
With this show, 'the feels' are always on the menu.
The first episode, featuring Siobhan McSweeney and Kathy Kiera Clark, airs tonight on Virgin Media Two at 10:00 pm.
The second episode, featuring Matt Tebbutt and Anna Richardson, will air on Monday, December 4th at 10:00 pm.
