It has since been revealed that things are only going to get worse for Jack as doctors say that the boy is going to lose his leg.
In upcoming episodes, a consultant at the hospital examines Jack's leg and discovers that his infection is spreading. In order to stop it, the consultant tells Kevin that they will need to amputate.
Kevin tells the hospital that they can go ahead with the procedure but then has to inform his son of what's about to happen.
The scenes will be emotional, as Kevin grapples with the idea of Jack finding out he'll struggle to play football as he spots a pair of his son's boots at home.

She is, understandably, upset and confides in Kate that her dad blames her for what's happened.
