After what seems like the longest wait ever, Netflix has finally given us a glimpse of Blonde, a biopic on the way all about Marilyn Monroe.
The film's release was postponed last year as a way of moving it out of an already packed awards season, but now the trailer is finally here.
The film is from director Andrew Dominik, best known for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and stars Knives Out and No Time to Die’s Ana de Armas as Marilyn herself.
The story is based on the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates and promises to “boldly reimagines the complicated life of icon Marilyn Monroe, blurring the lines of fact and fiction, and artfully exploring the tension between her public and private life.”
But not only will it give a run through of her life, you can expect the film to be more raunchy than you'd imagine as it's been given a NC-17 rating for sexual content.
The film has been reportedly causing Netflix executives some trouble due to the disturbing and graphic content despite them recutting the film to "curb the excesses of the movie.”
Blonde will also feature Adrien Brody (The Pianist), Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire) and Julianne Nicholson (Mare of Easttown).
The new teaser trailer shows the Hollywood icon depicted as a tearful bundle of nerves hoping that a mysterious woman won't abandon her.
But as her make up is applied, she suddenly transforms into the star she is and we realise who she was talking about initially.
Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tracey Landon, Scott Robertson have all taken their hand at producing the film, with Christina Oh as Executive Producer.
Blonde will be released globally on Netflix on September 23.
