"Nearly a third admitted that they had avoided going to the doctors altogether with gynaecological issues due to embarrassment."The museum, which will host rotating exhibitions about vaginal health, periods, sex, and anatomy, will be free to the public "... because we believe access to knowledge about our bodies should not be dependent on your financial situation." Outreach programmes, sex education, comedy nights, and workshops will all be taking place once the museum opens, allowing visitors to learn everything they need to know about vaginas and vulvas in an inclusive space. Schechter and her volunteers have since launched a Crowdfunder in order to pay for the museum, its staff, rent, and the outreach programme. They are seeking £300,000 to ensure that their incredibly important and groundbreaking project becomes a reality. The vagina museum is set to open in Camden Market this November.
