Are you ready to Czech out one of the most amazing cities in Europe?

Okay, okay, Dad jokes aside if you're going to visit one European city this winter then make it Prague. From the stunning architecture, great night life, and a-mazing food, you'll be absolutely spoilt for choice during a weekend in the Czech capital. Here are the 8 things you have to do (and eat) during a trip to Prague. Listen to jazz on Charles Bridge Charles Bridge is a huge pedestrian bridge that connects Old Town to Lesser Town and Prague Castle. The bridge is one of the prettiest parts of the city and also one of the most musical. The bridge is full of artists sketching and street performers putting on shows. If you want to see something really special look out for the jazz bands that come to play on the bridge. They're absolutely fab.

Explore the Old Town Square The Old Town Square is the heart of Prague. The square is full of some of the most historic buildings in the capital (and some of the best photo opportunities) so make sure you go and visit it. During the winter the square is completely transformed into a winter wonderland with festive Christmas markets taking over the whole area. While you're there climb the bell tower to get a great view of the city.

Watch the astronomical clock strike on the hour Located in the Old Town Square, Prague's astronomical clock is one of its best-known tourist attractions. The clock was first installed in 1410 and is amazingly still working today. Every hour, on the hour, the clock comes to life with moving figurines and music. It's basically a massively elaborate cuckoo clock. Get your Snapchat at the ready.

Eat a trdelník You actually can't leave Prague until you've had a trdelník. The traditional Czech sweet pastry is made from rolled dough wrapped around a stick then topped with sugar and walnut dust. You can also get stuffed trdelníks that are full of ice cream, Nutella or both. Absolute heaven!

Put a lock on it You might have seen love lock bridges in Paris or Germany and Prague also has its very own version. The Czech love lock bridge is found in the Malá Strana district. The pedestrian bridge stretches over the canal and for the past number of years couples have locked padlocks with their initials on them onto the railings before tossing the keys into the water below. Whether you think that's romantic or a pile of BS it's still definitely worth going to see.

Say hi to John Just around the corner from Love Lock Bridge is the John Lennon Wall. Since the 1980s the wall has been filled with unreal graffiti and messages of love, peace and hope. The wall is continually painted over so you'll see something new each time you go. Bring along a marker to sign your name. You have to get the iconic Instagram snap as well.

Marvel at the castle Prague Castle dates back to the 9th century and is now the home of the President of the Czech Republic. It is one of the largest ancient castles in the world and is roughly the size of 7 football pitches. Unsurprisingly, there is a lot to see inside including churches, gardens, jewels and royal residences. Don't miss St. Vitus Cathedral with its stunning stained glass windows.

Take some photos at Letná Park Paris has the Eiffel Tower, Dubai has the Burj Khalifa, Prague has a park. It might seem a bit odd but the best views in Prague are from Letná Park. The park overlooks most of the main attractions including Charles Bridge. It's a great place to grab a beer and take in the views of the city. If you love dogs this is your ideal spot because they are absolutely everywhere.
