Add us as a preferred source on Google »Clustering is quickly becoming a popular trend, and for good reason.
The name comes from having clusters of small trinkets and decorations dotted around your room. The clusters can be made up of perfume bottles, small jewellery boxes, seashells, and just about anything else.
The idea is to have your personality represented through your belongings.
People online have associated the trend with the rooms we see in rom-coms; the lead character always has an eclectic, boho-chic bedroom.
We learn everything about them from the posters in their room, the colours they use, the clothes on the floor.
Clustering is maximalism in a different form, but you don't need to buy all new decor to achieve it.
A common way to start is using small trays and decorative plates to store rings, necklaces, and other jewellery.
Scatter perfume bottles and small candles around different corners of your room: the windowsill, beside your bed, on your desk.
Stack books vertically on the floor instead of a shelf for a unique and whimsical look.
Any hobby you have can be represented by an object in your room: music posters, old cinema tickets, sports memorabilia.
The trend is all about organised chaos and fashionable clutter, so don't be afraid to get messy with it.
Add ribbons, lace tablecloths, and whatever trinkets you want on display.
The beauty of clustering is that no one will know that your room is a mess - it looks like you did it on purpose.
I, for one, will definitely be trying this out.
