Coronation Street Boss Apologises For Script Mistake

Coronation Street producer Stuart Blackburn has apologised for a mistake made in one of this week’s episodes. In case you missed it, viewers drew attention to the fact that Kevin Webster seemed to have forgotten that he had a son that died. When his daughter Sophie was saying how hard it was to get in touch with her late girlfriend Maddie’s parents, he said it “must be hard burying one of your kids.” Michael Le Vell as Kevin Webster (image: ITV). However Kevin himself did lose a child in the show. His baby boy Jake, with Alison Webster, died shortly after his birth back in 2000. Blackburn told The Sun newspaper: “I would like to thank viewers who spotted our mistake. “Our episodes go through many drafts and are scrutinised by many people, but on this occasion, we did make a mistake.” Maddie Heath passed away on the show (image: ITV).
