Speaking to The New York Post, Amanda said, "We had this thought of, ‘Would it be crazy to do this? But, actually, it would be crazy not to.”
The couple first met while training for another marathon so they thought this was the perfect way to start their wedding day.
They began the race at 7am, finished it by 9:45am and rushed home to prepare for the wedding ceremony and night.
Commenting on the day, Joel said, "We packed so much into this one day. But it felt fantastic. It reinforced how important the running community is to us.”
