As Valentine's Day approaches, the San Antonio Zoo is giving people a chance at closure while simultaneously raising funds for the wildlife at the zoo.
The Cry Me A Cockroach campaign allows anyone with a grudge to name a cockroach, rodent, or vegetable after an ex, or whomever they please, for a donation, ranging from $5 (€4.64) to $25 (€23.22).
Not only does an online donation give you naming rights, but the named creature or food can then be fed to the animal residents.
The campaign allows people to be part of a 'global sensation' and 'ex-terminate your past' while supporting an important cause.
"Symbolically name a roach, rat, or veggie after your ex or not-so-special someone and San Antonio Zoo will help squash your past, a true heartbreak healer, by feeding your selection to an animal resident," the fundraiser newsletter reads.
"This fundraiser received international attention last year, this year, it promises to be even more sensational."
After you make your donation, San Antonio Zoo will forward a digital Valentine's Card showing your support for the Cry Me a Cockroach Fundraiser.
