Add us as a preferred source on Google »The changing of the seasons means we'll be seeing more insects in our homes, which is never a pleasant sight.
There's nothing that creeps us out more than finding a spider in the house and then seeing it scurry away, out of sight.
If you're ever unfortunate enough to find one in your bedroom then you can forget about sleeping because there's no way we'll get an ounce of sleep with a spider in the same room.
There's been an increase in the number of spiders in Irish households lately, mainly due to the drop in temperature, but there is a way to keep the critters out of your home.
If you have been finding a few too many spiders lurking around the house, we may have a solution for you.
All you need is water and some peppermint oil.
It couldn't be easier... after you've hoovered the house, simply spray your minty water around the place.
It won't kill spiders (don't worry), they just hate the smell of peppermint, so the scent will deter them from entering your home.
We also suggest spraying a little extra in small corners and all those annoying places you'll find spiders in.
