Facebook users generally fall into one of two categories - those who continually post pictures of their children... and those who are sick of all the baby pictures.
Well, they're not going anywhere if Facebook's latest venture is anything to go by.
The social media network has now launched a pilot version of Scrapbook, a feature that allows parents to officially tag photos of their children, despite the fact that under 13s are not allowed to have an account.
The child may then inherit the Scrapbook when they reach the appropriate age to use the social networking site, having a ready-built profile by the time they're old enough to join.
Dan Barak, the Facebook product manager who designed the feature, said: "I started seeing friends who were parents adding photos of their kids and tagging their partners... we asked and interviewed a bunch of parents and found 65% of partners who share photos of their kids on Facebook do this."
"Photos of my son are the most important pictures my wife and I will ever take. It's important to us that we're in control of these photos."
Scrapbook is currently only available in the US in pilot form. Facebook say that "the usual privacy and security controls" will apply and user feedback will be taken into account.
