A girl has lost her job because of one singular tweet

As the power of social media grows and grows, we're constantly warned to censor ourselves online for fear of future employers seeing our undesirable photos.

Even as young as secondary school children today are advised to be careful of what they post for fear of any ill-fated posts resurfacing in years to come. We've seen many celebrities in the media having to deal with the backlash of having photos or e-mails leaked which depict them in a vulnerable light so privacy is probably the best policy these days. One girl who has learnt this perhaps the hard way is Carley Scholl from Berkshire in the UK.

Carley, like the rest of us, was having a good moan about her retail job - dealing with the rude general public and running around on your feet all day is no easy task - to what she thought were her mates on Twitter. Tweeting "I legit want to quit Tesco now", a general post which could reference anything about her job, little did she know the reaction she was going to receive. The Tesco Twitter account (who apparently search their own name) found her tweet and told her that her time working with them was finished. Tweeting "well your wish is our command, Carley! We've informed staff management that you're no longer working with us" followed by maybe the most passive aggressive emoji of all time, Carley was left understandably, reeling by the news.

Carley hasn't updated the world yet as to whether her job is still intact, but here's hoping that her boss sees the funny side and keeps her on.
