2. Rathlin Island, Antrim
This beautiful, remote island off the north coast of Antrim is a real hidden gem. An hour's drive from Belfast will bring you to Ballycastle, where you take a six-mile ferry ride across the Sea of Moyle.
Just six miles long and one mile wide, the L-shaped Rathlin Island is home to around 140 people. Head towards Mill Bay to meet some of the resident seals.
