In the photo's caption, Robbie wrote:
"I love this woman and her curvy body. As a teenager, I was often teased by my friends for my attraction to girls on the thicker side, ones who were shorter and curvier, girls that the average (basic) bro might refer to as "chubby" or even "fat." Then, as I became a man and started to educate myself on issues such as feminism and how the media marginalizes women by portraying a very narrow and very specific standard of beauty (thin, tall, lean) I realized how many men have bought into that lie."He went on to say that although his wife's body "won't be the one featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan," she is still the one that stole his heart.
"There's nothing sexier to me than a woman who is both curvy and confident; this gorgeous girl I married fills out every inch of her jeans and is still the most beautiful one in the room."Robbie ended the post by asking other men to consider real women who aren't "a porn star or a bikini mannequin or a movie character." He also told women that the perfect guy for them was out there, and that they would "love you like I love my Sarah." The post received praise online, with some users applauding Robbie's honesty and the sweet things he had to say about his wife, Sarah. https://twitter.com/BuzzFeed/status/893265478319128576 However, others remained critical of the post, believing that Sarah did not need Robbie's approval of her body, and that the post was in fact condescending to others who see themselves as "curvy" or "fat." https://twitter.com/TheAngryFangirl/status/893505122176831488 One user on Instagram said that Robbie "doesn't get a cookie for being attracted to his own wife." Another commented that the post was "insulting" and argued that a woman would rarely say something similar about a man.
"I noticed she didn't write a blog post about accepting your body, which just shows she's a better person than you. Love is in the heart, not the body. How incredibly selfish and insulting. "The post has garnered over 22,000 likes since it first appeared online.
