LISTEN – Humans Of Dublin Bill Doran’s Son Has Paid Tribute To His Dad On Today FM

We were all saddened to hear about the passing of Bill Doran, who was the subject of that touching Facebook post on the Humans Of Dublin page. His son Derrick joined Anton Savage on his show today, to discuss his father's colourful life, and the impact that the post had on him. He also told Anton that the death of his mother really affected Bill, that 'it hit him like a tonne of bricks', and they had been together since meeting on the Harold's Cross Bridge at 15. Derrick told him that Bill had been overwhelmed with the kindness of the responses from people. "His face lit up when he read all the comments." "He couldn't believe so many people around the world could be so caring.' There's also a beautiful tribute to Bill on the wall of the barbers that Bill worked in for decades, and Derrick is hoping that the council don't decide the 'masterpiece' has to be removed.
