Florida man Rick Snyder starts his day at 4 a.m. and spends the wee hours of the morning collecting lost change on the side of the road and left in vending machine drawers.
He's been doing this for an unbelievable 10 years.
As of this week, the 69-year-old had collected a whopping $21,00. On Tuesday, he donated the lot to a local animal centre.
Rick said he finds an average of about $5.60 in change a day and covers 80 km of ground per week.
The gentleman said he chose Gulf Shore Animal League thanks to his passion for animals and his dedication to taking care rescue animals on his own time.
He told local news outlets: “I’ve always liked animals. I’ve been taking care of feral cats for years and I started noticing a lot of change lying around,” said Synder. “So I started picking it up and keeping track of it.”
Snyder added that he never planned to keep the money for himself, saying he had as much as he needed.
