People are eating oranges in the shower. Here’s why…

Listen; we're the first ones to admit a glass of wine enjoyed in the bath is a thing of beauty.

We can even get the point of the shower beer, as nonsense as it seems. When we first heard of shower oranges however, it was clear: we've reached peak bathroom refreshment. Yes, you read that correctly; people are eating oranges in the shower.

Why? Well the reasons range from the hygienic (the juice gets everywhere but is immediately washed away, meaning no sticky fingers) to the oddly liberating (you really shouldn't... so it probably feels a little naughty and wrong).

Secret orange eaters first started coming out of the woodwork on a Reddit thread asking readers to suggest 'unconventional things everyone will enjoy’.

One fan suggested eating an orange in the shower was one of the most 'liberating and carnal' things you could experience:

Now it's firmly a thing. Even Men's Health gave it a go, declaring the experience 'overwhelmingly delicious', and offering the following unforgettable guide: "Bury your face in that orange. Be feral, be visceral, let that id loose. Let the cold juice run down your chin and into your chest. Let the juice and pulp and pips get everywhere. Use your teeth to scrape the sections out of the hollow as you press the peel into your face." At first were were not entirely sold, but we must admit, this idea of a citrus explosion first thing in the morning (and the time saved by eating breakfast while our conditioner gets to work) is starting to become strangely alluring...
