Add us as a preferred source on Google »As we get older or become mums ourselves, we may start to see resemblances between you and your mum.
Then, one day, your own daughter may start to see them too.
Whether it’s through our mannerisms, our reactions, or our parenting styles, it kind of feels like an inevitable transition passed down through generations.
A study has revealed the average-age daughters officially become just like their mums and the traits we most likely inherit from them.
The research, which was commissioned by greeting cards marketplace thortful.com determined that we turn into our mothers by the age of 36.
However, previous research in the area by British-based surgeon Dr Julian de Silva in 2019 with over 2,000 men and women found that, on average, women start turning into their mothers at the age of 33, while men begin imitating their fathers at age 34.
The recent thortful.com research also stated that the main trait we inherit from our mums is their body shape, with 24 per cent of survey respondents saying their build was the same as their mums.
The top personality traits that participants felt they developed because of their mums were their bossy streaks (22 per cent) and the constant need to nag (20 per cent).
Interestingly, 68 per cent of those surveyed admitted that they are beginning to enjoy life more with age, with 92 per cent of participants saying the best part of getting older was staying in over going out.
That was followed by appreciating an early night (86 per cent) and 81 per cent of adults enjoying not going clubbing anymore.
