Thirty-seven per cent of those interviewed revealed that they don't feel their work contributes to society in a positive way.
However, the study revealed that despite feeling this way, only a small minority were actively seeking more satisfying work.
And it seems women are feeling more fulfilled than their male counterparts - while 42 per cent of men agree their work is meaningless, only 32 per cent of women said the same.
While these complaints can be brushed off as mild dissatisfaction, 8 per cent admitted that they would actually be embarrassed to tell people what they work at.
The survey was conducted as a reaction to unexplained signs that dotted the London commute lines earlier this year.
One of the signs read: "It's as if someone were out there making up pointless jobs for the sake of keeping us all working."
Another said: "Huge swathes of people spend their days performing tasks they secretly believe do not really need to be performed."
A previous survey from the site concluded that 57 per cent of workers felt a four day week would actually be more productive.
