Will Andrews of the P&G Fragrance Design team knows what he's talking about in this respect, and opened up to Cosmopolitan about the scents to look out for on the perfume shelf.
The scents that make everyone more attractive (male and female) tend to be the foodie notes, like vanilla, coffee or chocolate scents.
This is because biologically we are "constantly on the lookout for the next meal" explains Andrews.
He added: "While vanilla in male fragrance may be added to make it a little softer, in a female fragrance it tends to add a richness and a saccharine edge."
When it comes to highlighting femininity, Andrews advises that florals are the way to go:
He says:
"Humans tend to be drawn to familiar smells.
"Because we are prone to linking flowers to femininity, such scents are attractive on a woman."
However, he did note that there is NOTHING more attractive than confidence, so whatever scent you go for, wear it with gusto.10 beautiful flower-themed baby names that are perfect for summer-born babies
