Snapchat is far and away one of the most-used apps, with the number of downloads nearing 200 million in January of last year, according to Business Insider.
Considering how widely used it is, this latest news should be a cause for concern among those of us that are snap-happy.
9to5Macare reporting that certain third-party Snapchat apps are sending copies of users login details over insecure connections.
>Will Strafach is an internet security researcher and he found that the app Snapix (which uploads photos from your camera roll to your Snapchat), passes over your login details onto their own server before sending them onto Snapchat, which enables them to take your information.
This is scary, because using an insecure server means that if you use Snapchat on a public Wifi network, someone could easily find your logins and do whatever they want with them.
Quick Upload and Snapbox were also named by Strafach.
You'd be better off deleting these apps, and changing your login details just to be safe.
