Today’s adorable animal update features penguins roaming around an empty aquarium

Penguins roaming around an empty aquarium is what we all need to see today.

Life has taken an unexcepted turn and with the Covid-19 outbreak escalating every day, it's difficult to know when things might return to some kind of normality. In the meantime, we have to find a new routine and if you need something to brighten up a day working from home, behold these adorable penguins. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago has been shut down to the public in a bid to spread the halt of Covid-19 as is the case with many businesses and attractions around the world. This meant a group of rockhopper penguins got the chance to roam the aquarium in what was an extremely novel experience for them. Describing it as a "field trip", the penguins had the chance to meet other penguins and this is the wholesome content we need today.

Edward and Annie, a bonded pair of penguins together for a nesting season (can you actually deal), had a little walk around the aquarium.

Edward and Annie are due to build their nests next week and the good news is Shedd Aquarium will be sharing all the goings-on via digital coverage.

The caregivers at Shedd went on to say that while life has been turned upside-down for many of us, things will continue as normal for the penguins and that's exactly what we need to hear right now.

"While this may be a strange time for us, these days feel normal for animals at Shedd. Our caregivers are constantly providing new experiences for the animals to explore and express their natural behaviors with. Let us know what penguin activities you would like to see!"
