London is getting an unreal new theme park, described as ‘The UK Disneyland’

London is getting a new theme park and it has been dubbed the UK Disneyland.

Plans for The London Resort were announced recently and according to reports, the theme park will be located in Swanscombe, Kent. Spanning 535 acres, there are plans for six different islands or parks within the one location including The High Street, The Woods, The Studios, The Kingdom, The Isles and The Starport. Rumoured to cost an estimated £3.5 billion, The London Resort is due to open for business in 2024. The London Resort is the first development of this scale and size to be built in Europe since Disneyland Paris. Although the first park will open in 2024, another is due to follow in 2029 making it a two gate park and more than likely, a leading tourist destination. Discussing the new attraction, PY Gerbeau, Chief Executive of London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH) said:

"We are creating a first-class theme park. A destination that maximises all the new, immersive and interactive technologies and experiences in the world. But we won’t just be creating a world- class leisure destination, it will also be one of the most sustainable theme parks on the planet. "We have three guidelines we work to when it comes to developing attractions,” continues Gerbeau. “Number one is innovation. We’re not here to copy what’s been done before even if it has been successful. Number two is relevance. We need to consider that the customers of today will not be the customers of 2024. And the third is flexibility. We need to create a park that can evolve and adapt easily".

The theme park recently announced partnerships with BBC, ITV and Paramount Pictures, bringing to life some of the world's most iconic films. A treat for kids and parents, you're guaranteed to hear a lot more of The London Resort in the coming months.
