Twitter Is Testing Out a New Timeline And It Turns Out People Don’t Like Change

A new Twitter "experiment" has gleaned at least one confirmed result - people don't like change. If you've noticed your timeline is all jumbled up and you're feeling confused - you're not wrong and you're not alone. The folk behind the micro-blogging site have announced that they are experimenting with a new timeline, whereby their reverse-chronological tweet order is now arranged in order of relevance. A spokesperson told several publications including the Wall Street Journal: “This is an experiment. “We’re continuing to explore ways to surface the best content for people using Twitter.” The change is rumoured to be an effort to attract new users in the wake of dwindling growth. Co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey said: “You will see us continue to question our reverse chronological timeline, and all the work it takes to build one by finding and following accounts. “We continue to show a questioning of our fundamentals in order to make the product easier and more accessible to more people.” However, it looks like the change may have the opposite effect, with many users taking to the social media site to vent.
