The day itself will be one of the best of your life, but it will also cause quite a lot of headaches in the run-up to it.
There are many mistakes we'll make when planning a wedding. There will be people you'll nearly forget to invite, things you'll neglect to book, and maybe the cake you wanted isn't what you hoped for.
It's important to accept that doing what makes you happy on your big day is the main thing to focus on.
A wedding planner recently revealed that there is one error many couples are making, but it doesn't have anything to do with choosing flowers for your bouquet or the right pocket square.
According to Hitched UK, one big wedding error people are making is letting other's opinions get to them too much.
There's no doubt that many couples will have less traditional ideas that will bother others, but isn't the day all about you?
The wedding experts said focusing on other people's opinions can tarnish your big day and sway you from making decisions that suit you.
People love to have their opinions, especially when it comes to weddings, but letting them sway your decisions will take away from your special day.
Hitched UK encouraged couples planning their wedding to "be kind but fair".
Approach their opinions and comments with a "thanks but no thanks" attitude, but don't let them control any decisions you're making
"You will never be able to please everyone, so stay focussed on making you and your partner happy by planning the day you guys want," they shared.
Ignore the great-aunt who disses your wedding venue choice and dismiss anyone who mocks your modern ceremony. Have the wedding that you've always dreamed of, not the one people think you should have.
What was the biggest hurdle you faced when planning your wedding?
