Wicklow teenager searches for a Debs date on Done Deal

Finding a Debs date can be one of life's most traumatic experiences. It's scientifically proven.

If you're a single girl or boy, many of us resort to asking a friend to accompany us. But what if your friends have all agreed to go with someone else? Or even worse, you have no friends at all? So you must narrow it done again. Ask an ex to go to the Debs? Or ask the last person you shifted? (YIKES). I was the coward that asked my friend by text to go to the Debs with me and I was embarrassed for a week after - but one Irish boy has had an excellent idea in the quest for a Debs date minus any awkwardness or mortification - by advertising on Done Deal. Spotted on JOE, one Wicklow lad decided to get serious about looking for a lovely lady to join him and posted an informative advert, appealing to girls everywhere to do him a favour.

"Hi there, my debs is on the 11th of August and due to circumstances I don't have a date, so if your interested send me a text. Debs comes with full trimmings i.e flowers and chocolates for parents, lifts, corsage, food and drink. A little about myself: I'm 18, 5ft11 (close enough to 6ft), I sail and I play provincial rugby, Have 6 brothers and 4 sisters, I have a decent job (electrician), Good sense of humour, Generous, Good craic, Don't smoke, And not that bad looking according to my mother... Like all types o music, Play guitar, bass and ukulele."

The 18-year-old even included a number of recommendations from friends - both famous and regular - in his bid to find a date.

"What my friends say about me: Reece - ah he's alright I suppose, can't cycle for s#*%e tho. Bradley cooper - Great guy! Would go with him if I could. Willem - Great house mate, will always miss having him here. Liam hemsworth - He deserve the hammer more than I do.. My mammy - He's the most handsome boy in the world any girl would be lucky to have him. Aran - He gets away with everything. Barack Obama - Yes he can!"
