“I was eight months pregnant in 2014 and it was such an amazing experience,” she told Team USA. “There is something about coming out to any venue not really expecting to win but going along with the journey and seeing what comes out of it.”Alysia finished last in the first-round heat this time, however, she did take one victory with her, and that was beating her time in 2014 by nearly 11 seconds.
The 31-year-old’s three-year-old daughter was cheering her mum on and was waiting for her at the finish line wearing a t-shirt that read “Strong like mom.”
“This is what it looks like to be a professional athlete as a woman and still continue with your career,” she told FloTrack. “This is my normal.”
