Confused, Hobbie said he checked with several London hospitals but there was no record of her anywhere.
"At this point I thought she didn't want me at the birth and I couldn’t get my head around why she would have changed her mind when she knew how important it was to me," he explained.
"That was the only possible explanation. That or something bad had happened."
It was when he filed a missing persons report that the truth began to come out.
She was found safe by police and texted Hobbie to say she'd had the twins and that one of them was in intensive care.
She refused to let him see the babies and it was her own dad who ended up telling Hobbie that there had been no pregnancy.
"Everything she had told me and everything I thought was happening for the last eight months was a lie.
"In my mind I was preparing to be a dad and then from one day to the next I found out it was all over."
He concluded by saying he hoped she got help.
