Relatives of those involved in the 1916 Rising walked to Dublin's Moore Street today and called on the government to end its plan for redevelopment of the historic area.
The government is appealing a High Court judgment which protects 1916 heritage battlefield sites on Moore Street and the surrounding lanes, RTÉ reports.
The relatives walked to Moore Street following an annual ceremony to mark the anniversary of the rising at the Garden of Remembrance.
Several great-grandchildren of people who were involved in the rebellion 101 years ago laid lilies at the ceremony.
