In a statement, Aldi Ireland said: "As a precautionary measure we have initiated a recall of this product due to a potential electrical fault. Please do not use this product.
"Customers are asked to return this product to the nearest store, where a full refund will be given."

Aldi said that they have now removed the products from all Irish stores, and it is currently investigating the issue with the supplier of the fryer.
