He told The Independent that "My first reaction was I assumed it must have been an oversight. Reporters from most other major outlets such as New York Times, Washington Post and Politico have been invited, but CNN are boycotting the event entirely.
A spokesperson from the news outlet told The Hill that "In light of the President’s continued attacks on freedom of the press and CNN, we do not feel it is appropriate to celebrate with him as invited guests."
