The Emma Hannigan Breast Cancer Research Fellowship will award researchers for work in the field which takes place at the Breast Cancer Research Centre in the Royal College of Surgeons.
It has been announced that the inaugural award will be given to Dr Damier Varislija.
CEO Aisling Hurley said of the fellowship: “The naming of this fellowship in Emma’s honour recognises her valuable contribution to our research efforts and it ensures her memory lives on in transforming the landscape of breast cancer in Ireland into the future.”
