Add us as a preferred source on Google »Broadcaster Roz Purcell has shared an update on her alopecia journey, revealing it has become 'more common' of late.
Roz has been very vocal about her journey with alopecia, an autoimmune disease which attacks the body's hair follicles.
The condition can be hereditary, but it is known to worsen when under high levels of stress.
Taking to Instagram, the broadcaster and influencer shared a picture of the back of her head where a bald patch was visible in the lower part of her hair.
"First time having two bad patches pop up in the same month," she shared, "It’s just getting more common."
Earlier this year, Roz urged her followers to "Go to an expert" if anyone was also suffering from alopecia areata.
Roz shared her experience at the Institute of Dermatologists on her social media, where she met with Dr. Catriona Ryan, a specialist who administers injections to treat the condition.

Dr. Ryan explained that while alopecia areata itself isn’t directly linked to nutrition, hair shedding associated with the condition can sometimes be connected to low iron levels or a deficiency in vitamin B12.
Roz concluded that her best advice to anyone struggling with hair loss was to seek help from an expert.
She explained: "Sometimes I feel like people online, like influencers, when something happens to them, people think they are an expert in that area, but like my advice to anyone who is suffering hair loss, whether it’s alopecia areata [or] severe shedding, they tend to come together.
"Go to an expert. There are numerous treatments available. Not every treatment will work for you; I have found one that works for me."
