Speaking after news of the court appearance emerged, Isabel paid tribute to Bruna, who had been working as a contract cleaner at Cork’s Mercy University Hospital.
Isabel said: “My sister has always been a very private person with her personal life.
“Bruna has always been defined as a warrior, a discreet girl, but with very well defined goals.
“She was a sister who was always helping those who sought help from her.
“She was without a doubt the nerd of the family.”
She added: “We still don't know how to deal her death.
“No one in the world can imagine going through such a situation.
“We are living one day at a time.”
Noting that her sister had planned to build a new life for herself abroad since arriving in September, Isabel continued: "As she was still in Ireland for a short time, she did not tell us if she would be staying there for a long time.
“But she was considering staying outside Brazil for a long time.”
