Gardaí issued a statement following this morning's incident.
They confirmed they were alerted just before 8 am on September 27th.
Gardaí are "investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a female child with serious injuries".
Emergency services removed the child from the house and rushed her to Limerick University Hospital.
"Investigations are ongoing."
