Much like Denis Thatcher before him, he'll get the piss taken out of him even if he never says or does anything remotely interesting.
Alas it seems a lot of people have already noticed that he bears a striking similarity to another famous sidekick on his very first day as the PM's partner - Penfold.
That's right - a lot of slightly cruel Twitterers have decided that poor Philip's receding hairline, Harry Potter style specs, and overall demeanour make him a real-life doppelgänger for Danger Mouse's loyal companion.
