Recent reports have confirmed that the election will likely take place on October 24th, meaning thousands of schools will be used as polling stations.
According to The Irish Sun, 5,500 polling stations are located in primary schools across the country.
Citizens Information confirms that this year's midterm break will take place from Monday, October 27th to 31st inclusive, but that now may change due to the election.
A memo is going to the Cabinet today that indicates Friday, October 24th, as the official date for the Presidential Election.
The only confirmed candidates so far are Galway West Independent TD Catherine Connolly and former minister Heather Humphreys.
Connolly has been endorsed by Labour, the Social Democrats, and People Before Profit.
Simon Harris believes Humphreys is an excellent candidate.
He wrote on Instagram, "I believe Heather can break down barriers and bring people together. Her record in public life has demonstrated that vision of unity and community."
Former Dublin GAA manager Jim Gavin has been endorsed by Fianna Fáil, including party leader Michaél Martin.
Others who have expressed interest in running include Bob Geldof, Bertie Ahern, and former Met Éireann meteorologist Joanna Donnelly.
GAA president Séan Kelly suspended his bid for the Fine Gael candidacy due to a lack of support.
