‘Kiss my entire ass’ Leslie Jones criticises Alabama’s abortion law in SNL sketch

"You can't tell me what to do with my body."

Leslie Jones has harshly criticised Alabama's abortion laws on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live.  The comedian opened the Weekend Update segment on last night's show wearing a Handmaid's Tale outfit which she then removed to reveal a T-shirt with the word 'Mine' and an arrow pointing downwards. "The next thing you know, I'm at Starbucks and they won't take my credit card because I'm a woman, instead of the regular reason, which is I don't have no money on it," she said. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tMhwbN84gU Jones then produced a photo of each of the men who voted in favour of the draconian abortion law this week, saying: "This look like the mugshots of everyone arrested at a massage parlour." "And if any of them had lips, I would tell them to kiss my entire ass. You can't control women because - I don't know if y'all heard - but women are the same as humans. "When women have a choice, women have freedom. This really is a war on women." Earlier this week, Alabama legislators passed the strictest abortion law in the States making the procedure illegal in all cases except where there is a substantial risk to the health of the mother. Women who procure abortions will not be held liable for doing so, but doctors who perform the procedure could go to prison. Alabama is one of many US States trying to overturn Roe v Wade, the landmark legislation that made abortion legal across America in 1973. Abortion will become illegal after six weeks gestation in Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Ohio in 2020.
