Met Éireann has updated the status yellow weather warning for certain counties

Oh, gorge.

Yesterday, a status yellow rainfall warning was issued for five counties in Ireland. The warning was put in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. Met Éireann said: "For the rest of Wednesday and all of Thursday, persistent and occasionally heavy rain at times with a risk of localised flooding. Amounts will be highest in coastal areas and on hills and mountains." And now, today, this weather warning has been updated, and will remain in place for three of the five counties until tomorrow. The statement from the forecasters today read: "Status Yellow - Rainfall warning for Donegal, Galway and Mayo." "Spells of persistent rain will give totals of 25 to 35 mm in parts, mainly over high ground."

"Valid: Thursday 30 May 2019 10:00 to Friday 31 May 2019 15:00."

So yeah, wear a jacket lads. However, other parts of the country are set for an alright weekend of weather. "During Friday evening and early Friday night rain will clear northeastwards to isolated showers with good clear spells. Lowest temperatures will fall to around 7 to 11 degrees and southerly winds will ease."

"Saturday is likely to start out mostly dry but patchy outbreaks of rain will soon push up from the south during the morning in a light southerly airflow. Rainfall amounts will be generally small and good dry periods will occur, with perhaps the odd bright or sunny spell occurring. Top temperatures will range between 14 and 18 degrees." "Rain will gradually give way to sunshine and showers during Sunday morning and early afternoon, but some heavy bursts are likely in Ulster and northwest Connacht. It will be less humid with top temperatures of around 14 to 18 degrees but it will feel cooler in the fresh and gusty westerly wind, strong along Atlantic coasts." You know what? We'll take it.
